The U.S. government has long known of the dangers of climate change and can no longer act in a manner that ignores that a climate emergency exists.

Mr. Stauber, thank you, I have an article that I would like to enter into the record.

So, let's be clear about what we are talking about when we consider oil and gas development in the Gulf. We are talking about affordable energy, low emissions, and funding for our treasured conservation efforts.

And despite this unprecedented success, President Biden listened to his radical base and banned oil and gas development on his very first day in office, contributing to skyrocketing gas prices and crippling inflation.

It is a fact that a barrel of oil from the Gulf or elsewhere in America is far and away cleaner than our rival exporters like OPEC, plus Russia, or even Canada.

Between 2005 and 2020, the United States decreased its CO2 emissions by 24 percent, while global emissions grew by 14 percent.

Just like previous hearings, the Majority is making an active choice to include U.S. in the title, and consciously choosing to ignore a holistic, global view of carbon.

I completely respect the work that you are doing to recover these taxpayer dollars but it is beyond me that my colleagues on the other side of the aisle still are trying to ram through their Build Back Broke program to increase the funds…

It should be troubling to everyone here that as families are struggling with inflation, higher energy bills and the supply chain crisis, that their hard-earned tax dollars are not being stripped away to pay criminals for fraud.

Eighty-four billion dollars, Mr. Ware, is exactly what we need you to find and hold these people accountable, so we need your advocacy.
