Where we need to begin, quite frankly, is with the general budget and we saw a huge expansion. President Obama increased spending at the federal level almost 25 percent. That's an amazing expansion.
The American people are asking us to take a look at this, and not have the sort of extravagant spending anymore.
For the sake of the most vulnerable people in this country, we have to reform Social Security, so it's solvent.
What I'm suggesting is that we need to rein in the spending at all levels.
Government spending doesn't create good jobs. That's why I fought and voted against the Bush Wall Street bailout, the failed Pelosi trillion-dollar stimulus.
