Mr. Speaker, last week the Republican Majority in the House of Representatives decided that they know better than the residents of the District of Columbia what their local government needs.

The President is now reportedly seeking $200 billion in supplemental funding from Congress for his war--an astounding amount that far surpasses the costs of the war that have been reported during the past four weeks.

It is one thing to call you back here for 5 minutes of testimony and talk to you about it. It is something else to go out on the reservation and actually talk to people and see the challenges that you are facing on the reservations.

It is going to be a huge price tag.
