“Let me complete this thought, and I would be happy to yield. I do know one thing. Lee Malvo himself said: I stole the weapon. That is very important. But the Senator suggested--and his words were: Well, maybe an under-the-table deal. I do not know that stealing is under the table, and the man who pulled the trigger admitted he had stolen the weapon. You can imply anything you want. I can't. I have to use factual statements given by, in this case, a man who has been apprehended and we now believe by all evidence committed that tremendously tragic crime and was one of the District of Columbia snipers. That is the reality. I believe those are the facts. I believe them to be honest and straightforward facts. I would be happy to yield to the Senator.”
