“I thank Chairman Blunt for his leadership on the Rules Committee and on the inauguration. We have a big group and are working together well on that. I look forward to our hearing. We, obviously, don't agree about this legislation, but I truly appreciate the olive branch and his willingness to talk about funding at this critical time for our States and our democracy. I look forward to doing that with my many colleagues in the next few weeks. Now I would like to turn this over to one of our great leaders, my colleague from Illinois, Senator Durbin.”
