I have been pushing something that Norm Ornstein and I have worked on together for a long time, which would be a reform of the filibuster.
I think Mitch was afraid they would be forced into doing that. They feel forced to do it. This though gives us time to pass build back better.
I mean, at one point in the speech, he said that, well, you know, incitement is a legal term but there’s no doubt that he provoked this.
This is not a bill that we can pass through reconciliation like we did the Relief Act. So this immediately brings to question the filibuster.
