AP does reduce college costs. If you can use AP to get out of a semester's worth of college work, you can save your parents--and I have a daughter who is a senior in high school, so I am very in-tune with this notion--you can save parents $5, $10, $20,000 worth of tuition by securing college credit while in high school.
