“What is nanotechnology? I think it is amazing. The chairman did not use a hair off of his head as an example, but nanotechnology is 1/100,000th the size of a normal human hair. What we are talking about has a tremendous potential for industry, for science, for the health of this Nation. So it is the beginning, if you will, of a new revolution. In our hearings on the future of medical technology, they estimate that within 30 years the life span of the average American could be 120 years old, partially because of the potential of nanotechnology, putting small rockets in one's bloodstream to hunt out certain discrepancies in the human body.”
