I say to my friend, I haven't seen the amendment, so it is hypothetical. You made a statement that left an inference here on what we were supposed to do, and so I will wait and get a copy of your amendment. I think your intent is good, but I am not sure that the end result will get what you are looking for. I would like to see the amendment.
