Our Congressman, Mike Michaud, has been working tirelessly to change this reality, but it has been a difficult fight.

We know we can do better than that for our veterans, we must do better than that.

Quite frankly, because I see no improvement in any of these identified issues, it looks to me that the Inspector General's recommendations have been ignored.

I think it is critical that our emergency response capabilities, with residents in particular, is commensurate with the technology choices that are being made by our citizens for purposes of communications.

Prevent the levee failure. That is, take early action, build the levee properly, and prevent the levee failure.

We cannot ignore it. We are going to pay earlier, or we are going to pay late.

He is leading the fight--I think everybody by now has seen what is going on at the GSA, and it is Jeff Denham who is the guy leading the charge, trying to push back on that waste and abuse that is occurring at the GSA.

As chairman of the subcommittee with jurisdiction over FEMA and emergency management, I have held a number of hearings focusing on improving our emergency management capability.

I would like to ask my colleague about section 102 of the bill. That provides medical care for certain medical conditions for veterans and their families who lived at Camp Lejeune from 1957 through 1987. There is one provision applicable…

I remain committed to working with the very dedicated staff at the Department of Veterans Affairs and the advocacy community to assure that our veterans are getting the best care that we can deliver in a timely way.

Every veterans' needs are unique. VA should get this right.

We are alarmed by the possible negative impacts on patient care, including substantial delays in care.

Workers must have at least the same legal protections as are currently afforded to corporate products.

This committee is going to be very aggressive in seeing how we can far exceed that goal and make sure we are getting the best value for the taxpayer.

In my opinion as the chair of this committee, I believe we are moving way too slow;

Any company that allowed this to happen would be bankrupt, would be defunct, except for the Federal Government.

The bottom line for me is to make sure that the veterans get the adequate prosthetics that they need.

It is vital that we set VA prosthetic care on a course that matches the courage and bravery of the men and women who serve our Nation in uniform.

My question is, the veteran themselves, have you done an evaluation? Is the customer, the veteran satisfied with the service and, if not, why not?

Our responsibility is to maximize a quality of life for these veterans...

Whether it is going to a private prosthetist or to the VA or wherever they may go, they need to get the best care wherever it is.
