I want to make sure that we have fair lines and fair seats, where we don't have situations where – where politicians are choosing voters, but that voters actually have a chance to choose their elected officials.

The president seems to be more concerned about my future than he is about the future of the American people.

I think what's happened is, this is what people hate about politics in the first place, the fact that the president of the United States... is putting his finger on the scale to try to manipulate elections.

We need to be able to have fair maps. And we also need to make sure that if the president of the United States is putting his finger on the scale to try to manipulate elections...

I see this as performative and nothing more.

Unlike the president of the United States, I’ve actually worn the uniform of this country.

And so I do not need and will not accept any type of lecture from someone who the only uniform they have worn is a Brooks Brother suit.

President Trump’s decision to mobilize the National Guard to conduct municipal policing in D.C. lacks seriousness and is deeply dangerous.

And then we get upset, and then we’re like, what happened with this group? What happened with that group? And they’re saying like, ‘Yo, what happened to the party?’

This is not a game for people. This is not game theory. This is not checkers. They’re real life. These are real lives.

We just stopped competing. We stopped making the case. We came up with this philosophy where, listen, it all comes down to three states.

I don’t know…. It’s always challenging if such a large percentage of the country, rightly or wrongly, feel the country is going in the wrong direction.

The promise that I made to the people of Maryland when the Trump administration came on board was that I will work with anyone, but I will bow down to no one.

After a thorough assessment of the damage, it's clear that additional support is necessary.

These communities demonstrated a clear need through FEMA's own process, and Maryland will appeal the decision to seek all available resources to support the recovery efforts.

It's an insult to Maryland and the community still suffering in the aftermath of the storm.

And this isn't about politics, this is about standing with our people.

We would — we still need to have comprehensive immigration reform, regardless — because what I know from the big, beautiful bill is, we are now trying to figure out 250,000 people who are about to lose their health care.

I would say, I’m not sure how telling a person who is doing things like making sure that our food is safe or making sure that our critical infrastructure is protected or making sure that veterans, like myself, I served, I led soldiers with…

Oh, yeah. And — but I think what we have is we need to make sure that we understand and are following the Constitution on it.

I think these are very serious times. And I think anyone, when we’re talking about what becomes the future for, not just the party, but for this country, I want to know, are you taking this moment seriously?

I’m very much okay with the idea that we have to be able to fix a completely broken immigration system.

But that becomes my point, is that we’re continuing to watch these patchwork solutions, which, frankly, end up having really difficult consequences for our states and our jurisdictions, because we’re not actually having a comprehensive…

But the thing that I also know is that this idea that we need quotas or arbitrary numbers, 3,000 people who are going to be deported every single day, that’s not a data-backed number.

We just saw how we just had the single largest loss of federal jobs in 30 years in the state of Maryland, month on month, with the month of June.
