It's no secret that our constituents are looking to us for bipartisan jobs legislation. I think SBIR is our first and best foot forward.

I truly believe that small businesses are key to getting our economy back on track and maintaining the technological leadership of the U.S. in the future.

As ranking member on this subcommittee, I remain as committed as ever to a long-term, comprehensive reauthorization of this important program.

I think that that is appropriate.

I don't really understand the argument that this is a de facto moratorium.

So, I encourage you to encourage others to make applications if they can demonstrate that they have been affected negatively, and, frankly, if there is not enough money to cover those applications that come forward out of the existing fund…

If you were here during the earlier panel, which I believe you were, you heard me hammer on this theme of rebuilding the country and how that is something that Americans understand implicitly.

Frankly, my perspective is that the industry is moving faster than is prudent in this region right now.

The mistakes that the IPCC has made along the way are ones that have been acknowledged, that they have recognized, that when you lay them against all the rest of the information and analysis and assessment that has been done, really pales…

The kind of data we have available to us now is much more extensive and robust than we have ever had before

If the promise of this technology is all that it is being presented as, then the industry certainly is in a position to make sure they do it right.

The industry is presenting it as holding great promise as a kind of bridge from traditional conventional sources of energy to, you know, renewable energy sources.

They should be turning it toward the industry and saying, why won't you produce with the permits that you already have?
