We need a sequencing plan. We need a money plan to match what needs to be done.

So, what they need is new wings. This is big, and it is serious.

We need you, at the Secretary's level, to really use whoever you will designate to be a hands-on manager of these costs that are exploding at NOAA, because of the satellites.

So, in other words, we would build in standards to the technology, where it would only be self-enforcing and self-policing. Is that right?

Let's all work together, so that we can be a more frugal Government, and have some smart funding initiatives.

We don't want NOAA cut loose.

Cyber espionage is a very considerable threat. We're not fully prepared, as a country, to address that.

Thinking that it's a bad idea doesn't give a plan for a contingency. We all think it's a bad idea.

The Commerce Department's job is to work with the President, the Congress, and the private sector to really create jobs.

Now, I'm not faulting the people who work for the Census Bureau, but, again, I worked with Secretary Guttierez, then Secretary Locke, and now you, Sir, and once again, now, we're hearing, 'Oh. The census [cost] might double.'

We are looking at NOAA.

It's either going to stay here or it's going to go, through due diligence of the Congress working with the President's suggestion.
