I understand that it is $126 million, that there's been a reduction of $43 million.

Hello to all of our astronauts on Space Shuttle Atlantis. You are taking part in something quite historical, not only have you given the Hubble a new life, but you're going to give the Senate a new lease on life.

The administration is committed to flying the Space Shuttle 8 more times to finish the Space Station.

And it's the big deal.

So we have got a lot to do together, and we want to work with you to recapitalize and rebuild the Department of Justice so we can render justice in our country and have our national honor restored abroad.

You know, everybody dumped buckets of money into the banks because they said we need their talent.

What would be useful to us in the debate is to know what we can continue to contribute for our colleagues, so that decisions, recommendations, policy initiatives and policy flashing lights would come from our science.

We're concerned that NASA is flat-lined after 2010.

We may be the leader in manned space flight today, but the eventual ramifications of this budget... has the potential to ensure that this lead will end, perhaps forever.

I'm so proud of Hubble. You know, it's gone where no telescope has gone before.

I would have trouble, Madam Chairwoman, supporting a budget that is poised to eliminate a real manned space program, and instead maintains the fantasy of one.

But when you look at the importance of what we do, things like Hubble, the International Space Station, our exploration program, our climate observing, observing the Earth, the dynamic Earth, all of these things are so very important to…

So somebody trying to rebuild Afghanistan makes less than somebody working at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), trying to rebuild the cities of America, both serving America with duty and dedication?

If we are for Lilly Ledbetter, we're also going to be for the wonderful people who work at the State Department.

But it is a sad day for Maryland if we--as we lose him to be our Secretary of Transportation.

I come today to join with my colleague, Senator Ben Cardin, to strongly recommend John Porcari to be Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

He has my full support, because John will bring vision, new ideas, and actually juice to the excellent Transportation team President Obama is assembling.

I think President Obama has made a great choice, and we enthusiastically support him, and hope you do, as well.

I look forward to working with you, and the people who will be confirmed.
