Barbara Mikulski: “The creation of MWAA represented a commitment from Congress to the residents of the DC Metropolitan area on the safe…”

It will be a proud day for our country when every girl who visits the National Mall is able to see herself represented amongst the giants of our national story.

As the longest serving woman in congressional history, I proudly stand on the shoulders of the suffragists who fought bravely and boldly for generations to secure women's political equality.

Nothing about me without me.

Your leadership in placing the Women's Suffrage National Monument on the National Mall will expand our Nation's understanding of American women's leadership.
