Some people don't even go to college because they see the frightening costs going forward.

We are not a for-profit organization and we talk all the time about--our rhetoric speaks to the idea of needing more college graduates.

Our policies and our interest rates still counter to that. Making it difficult for people to pay off loans.

Most of my constituents think it incredibly unfair that Wall Street banks can go to the Federal Reserve and borrow money at almost no interest rate at all.

Maybe we wouldn't give billions of dollars in tax subsidies to oil companies every year.

We shouldn't lose sight of the fact, obviously, that we're really looking at students and their families.

Ninety percent of their revenues come from taxpayers.

There is no evidence to support that the kind of arbitrary consolidation proposed by Chairwoman Foxx's bill will make the workforce system more coordinated or better integrated.

Consolidation threatens the performance of the system if it is accompanied by significant budget cutting.

Because of this skills gap, I am going to be reintroducing the WISE Investment Act which addresses this skills gap on a local level.

If we are really serious about this, I would hope that you would at least take a serious attempt at a period of time when the two committees might sit down and try to work out some differences.

The GAO report is not a ringing endorsement of consolidation.

A real opportunity to work together and come up with a bipartisan product was missed.
