I appreciate your focus on areas that we have been able to work with China in recent years.

But at large, there is something big that is happening here in terms of the switch over to lower carbon sources of energy.

We have to police that very closely.

I would hope my Republican friends could agree that it is time for us to put a fee on this.

So we have a big mess on our hands. We are dealing here with a law that was passed in 1872.

We do not want al-Nusra to win, we do not want Assad to win, and we do not want ISIS to win.

To say, at this point in the history of our Nation, that we cannot take in more than 10,000 refugees out of a nation of 300-million-plus is ridiculous.

I would just urge--I mean, I think we need to have some briefings on this subject, because, I agree with Mr. Bowers, it is U.S. leadership.

We have got to go to the table with Russia.

I think the United States should take a lot more refugees. You know, we broke a lot of the china over there, and we have a moral responsibility to take a lot of the people who are collateral damage.

America had to absorb those refugees in America. And we did. We had to.

Again, I am just going to call for a little bit of humility. We wanted to remove Qaddafi from Libya. We wanted to remove Mubarak from Egypt. We wanted to remove Saddam Hussein from Iraq. And we want to remove Assad from Syria. Not working…

What do we have right above us? We have Greenland. Again, Greenland with an ice block at its peak that is 2 miles high and it is melting.

I know your side wants to defund the NASA satellites so that they cannot tell us what is happening any longer because it is inconvenient for certain special interests, but that is a dumb way to go.

I ask for an aye vote on Senator Whitehouse's amendment just so you can protect us against this ice going into the water and endangering our coastlines.

If you cannot trust the United States Navy on this, if you cannot trust companies like Wal-Mart on this, I do not know who you can listen to.

My amendment says this bill cannot go into effect until the EPA and the Department of Energy determine how many jobs will be lost by this bill.

The war on coal is natural gas.

I thank the gentleman from Oregon for making this very important amendment.

We have heard a lot about job loss in the coal industry which has been a fact for the last 30 to 40 years.

Economics 101 moves utilities toward natural gas.

We are not going to do anything more important in 2 years; this is it.

It also reduces nitrogen oxide by 72 percent.

The Clean Power Plan reduces SO2, sulfur, by 90 percent between now and 2030.

It is a smokescreen. It is intended to screen off the lungs of the children in America from the smoke coming out of these polluting utilities.
