I think the president and John Boehner both need to be involved with this. I think we need a very intensive set of negotiations between now and the deadline on this debt ceiling.

I think the chances have gone pretty high now that we will not get entitlement reform and we won't get a serious reform of taxes until after the 2012 election.

Under Paul Ryan's plan, this bold proposal -- I disagree with it, but I concede that it's very bold -- under the Paul Ryan plan, the government does not balance its books. It continues to have to borrow money until 2040.

I think right at the end, he and his team did get hurt by this whole issue of Planned Parenthood. I think the Democrats played that very shrewdly.

It would be an outrage to shut down the government, for the Republicans to shut down the government, no matter how much money we give to Planned Parenthood or how EPA is funded.
