There is zero reason why this should even be a remotely partisan issue.

There is effectively nothing we can do right now, based on our current understanding of science and technology.

I want to express my condolences for the families and friends of those tragically lost in the two accidents.

It is ironic, because they are saying fund LWCF, Land and Water Conservation Fund, when the reality is you are swamp creatures.

I believe that, based on my evaluation, it was, as well.

Has this Administration or has the previous administration granted more variances or alternative compliance?

The only problem is that the program hadn't actually started yet, so I am not real sure what they were rating.

I have not seen anything that questions my confidence in FAA's safety judgment to date, and I continue to plan to work with you on a daily basis to ensure we understand all the facts.

The changes and the reforms that we make in the wake of these accidents must be based on fact, and must preserve the essence of the aviation system that has led to this unprecedented level of safety right here in the United States.

It is ironic, because they are saying fund LWCF... but we are prohibited from using it for that purpose.

That type of behavior cannot be tolerated.

It was ridiculous, the lack of accessibility.

I actually think we asked for pretty reasonable stuff.

I am also very frustrated by the lack of responsiveness from the Department of the Interior.

It is very difficult for us to do our job when that happens.

Let's make sure America builds the most efficient clean cars on the planet. We need to accelerate the energy efficiency standards and accelerate the transition to zero emission vehicles.

If we don't take science, if we don't make science-based, informed decisions, I am concerned that we are just going to go out there and just throw everything at the wall without having some type of measure.

I would love to work with you on that. Because, look, we can sit here and write a report that has utopian views. They have to be grounded.

I think it is important that we sort of reset the narrative, redefine this issue, and we introduce more science into the discussion of climate change.

I think something that we need to focus on is not less science but more, actually bringing more science to the table.
