Do you want to do nation building overseas or do you want to do nation building at home? Do you want to spend billions of dollars in Egypt or would you rather build some roads at home? I think it provides a perfect contrast. In fact, there couldn't be a better place to have a discussion on this issue. We always hear a lot of empty thoughts and empty promises: Oh, we will do this in committee. We will do this. They don't want this debate. I have been fighting tooth and nail against Members of my own party to get to this debate, to bring it to the floor, to bring it to the American people. Let's be very clear about what the amendment does. It halts military aid until they have an election. It is just obeying the law. Let's be very clear.
