Mr. President, I call up my amendment No. 1760. The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will report. The senior assistant executive clerk read as follows: The Senator from Kentucky [Mr. Paul] proposes an amendment numbered 1760 to amendment No. 1717. The amendment is as follows: (Purpose: To modify the debt limit instruction for the House of Representatives and the Senate) On page 47, strike line 20, and all that follows through page 51, line 7, and insert the following: (c) Increase in Statutory Debt Limit.--The Committee on Ways and Means shall submit changes in laws within its jurisdiction that increase the statutory debt limit by $500,000,000,000. SEC. 2002. RECONCILIATION IN THE SENATE. (a) In General.-- (1) Submissions.--In the Senate, not later than May 9, 2025, the committees named in paragraph (2) shall submit their recommendations to the Committee on the Budget of the Senate. Upon receiving all such recommendations, the Committee on the Budget of the Senate shall report to the Senate a reconciliation bill carrying out all such recommendations without any substantive revision. (2) Instructions.-- (A) Committee on agriculture, nutrition, and forestry.--The Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry of the Senate shall report changes in laws within its jurisdiction that reduce the deficit by not less than $1,000,000,000 for the period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.…
