Rand Paul: “Let me make sure I have the question correct. The Senator's question is on my concerns on the USA FREEDOM Act?”

We are voting on whether a witness who has received the benefit of a sweeping federal pardon can be ordered by this committee to answer questions and then defy that order without consequence.

This is a war of choice, and it wouldn’t have been my choice.

The bill before us grants the Executive Branch the power to raise nearly $500 billion dollars in revenue. I hope I am not the only Republican left in Congress who is horrified by a bill that proposes to raise taxes by half a trillion…

A pardon may protect a person from criminal prosecution. It doesn’t rewrite history.
