I appreciate your optimism, but forgive me for being somewhat of a pessimist because I have had this same conversation for years now.

On another issue in my district, we have consistently had the worst on-time service for the Saluki Express and the Illini Express Amtrak routes in central, eastern, and southern Illinois.

I have a whole audit team devoted to it, and I have special agents and 1811s that are out there on the streets looking for bad actors in this area.

So, when you say 'relatively quickly,' has Amtrak or anyone at your agency done any environmental reviews for some of these proposed routes?
