The citizenship question is not new. In fact, a citizenship question appeared on the census from 1820 to 1950.

It is very clear from this testimony and all of our past experiences that these programs are critical to students and families.

As we begin reauthorization it is critical we make sure the program works on the ground, in our school, and for the students.
