This is a snowstorm in the middle of a natural disaster.

President Donald Trump had approved his request for disaster relief funding.

It means we’re going to have to make sure we’ve got everyone displaced because of this flooding in a warm place for the days that are coming ahead.

Unfortunately, right now it is for most all of the commonwealth, save for parts of northern Kentucky.

From Tuesday night to Wednesday night we have another weather event coming into the commonwealth.

We will dig out, we will muck out, we’ll rebuild every single structure that’s here and we’ll make sure there’s a bright future for Pike County.

A state of emergency was declared by Beshear.

We need everyone to be aware that conditions are dangerous, and folks need to stay off the roads in areas with high water.

I am sad to share some more tough news tonight, Kentucky. We just confirmed another weather-related death out of Pike County, bringing our total loss to 9 people.

11 people died in his state, after making an emergency disaster declaration.

We believe this number is going to grow.

From mudslides in the east to snow in the west, the situation is dangerous. Please plan ahead, avoid travel and stay safe, Kentucky.

We need Kentuckians to remain alert. There are more than 300 road closures, with (state transportation) leaders saying the statewide impact is historic.

This weekend, we need everyone to stay alert and be prepared—especially those who live in flood zones.

We want everyone to be careful. The amount of rain coming down will make it hard to drive.

River flooding is very likely this weekend through next week. Significant flooding is expected where the heaviest rain falls.

This is one of the most serious weather events we’ve dealt with in at least a decade.

I have written to the White House requesting an emergency disaster declaration and federal funds for affected areas.

Widespread flooding is continuing. The statewide impact is massive, with hundreds of water rescues and multiple fatalities. Evacuations are continuing as this event will continue through today. Please be careful if you have to travel.

Kentucky, we’re seeing widespread flooding across the state, and we need everyone to take this seriously.
