the administration is calling for $40 billion in loan guarantees for our neighbor to the south. We have been lobbied by the high rollers in the administration and from the Federal Reserve to gain our support for the peso prop up. Once again the working families are requested to shoulder the burden of bad judgment. Once again the backbone of this Nation is asked to not only feed their families but also feed greed of the international bankers. Like a drunk returning to the bottle our neighbor to the south returns to the taxpayers for this peso prop up, with a promise that this time it is different. A promise to increase taxes and a promise to institute wage and price controls? The increased taxes and wage controls will take money out of the pockets of the Mexican workers. And price controls will reduce the profits of their businesses. It will not work. It is a bad plan. Mr. Speaker, the working people of this Nation are saying no to the peso prop up.
