This is a major victory for women and children subject to violence here and abroad. This is a major piece of legislation for us to be able to pass through this body. To be able to get this legislation passed at this time is a significant accomplishment. This is a good day, a great day for the Senate to stand up and do some of the best work we can to protect those who are the least protected in our society, to speak out for those who are the least protected here and around the world. This is a great day for this country, and it is a great day for this body.
