It seems this is a real mercantilist strategy on the Chinese part, that they stimulate and keep their economy going.

Proponents of the stimulus claimed that it would prevent the unemployment rate from rising above 8% or 9%, and yet it is already at 9.8%.

You need to have competitive workers with good skills. Otherwise, those jobs are going to go straight offshore.

But we will be different when we get back. We are going through pain, but let's get on the other side and show something for it.
