Pat Roberts: “Welcome to the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry's first hearing on the 2018 farm bill.”

I thank my colleagues for joining me in reviewing the nominations of the individuals before us.

His brand of unconditional cordiality is increasingly rare, and this institution sure could use a lot more of it.

I call this hearing of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee to order.
