This was something that we could get done. I was so frustrated that so many people -- that it was gridlocked and nothing got done. This we can get done. I think we can get wide bipartisan support. I think we can get it through the Senate. So I'm just happy that we moved the ball forward. It's not perfect, but it's a good first start.

I implore the good people of America to stand up and very clearly and forthrightly, respectfully of course, say that they cannot support this, nor can they support people who are unwilling to stand up and take a stand on this.
Democracy is a contact sport, and I'm not going to be shy about asking for money for my community. My guess is that next year I'm going to be putting in more earmarks.
