I always defend State Department employees.

This was going to happen. An American lives were at risk and we would have been culpably negligent.

He was actively plotting to take big action that would put dozens, if not hundreds, of U.S. lives at risk.

It was about helping the Ukrainians to get graft out and corruption outside of their government.
