I would hope the gentleman who chairs Oversight and Government Reform would recognize, as Mr. Connolly and Mr. Lynch have recognized, that there are some very serious risks in going forward with this. I don't think that the way to solve our deficit situation is to cut off our nose to spite our face, and that's really what we are doing here. This is not fair to the Federal workforce, it's not fair to the country, and it should not be passed today.
