I find this hearing always a place of hope.

I'm a little concerned to see that this year, the numbers seem to be dropping back a bit, and that's actually quite troubling.

This is not a time to waver on America's commitment to NIH and to the health of all Americans.

I think the most important resource we have is the talented scientists who do the work.
