Prior to his vice presidency, he was the Governor of Indiana from January 14, 2013, until he assumed the vice presidency. Pence also served in the U.S. House of Representatives from January 3, 2001, to January 14, 2013, representing Indiana's 2nd and 6th congressional districts.
