Ms. Cange, the investigations that followed the February 2014 fire and radiological release accidents at WIPP reported 122 judgements of need to DOE to address deficiencies in safety practices that contributed to the accidents.

Do Air Force acquisition plans include a longer term solution to meet CENTCOM's needs, something along the lines of 10 to 15 years or more?

If funding needs are not met, will NNSA have to defer some modernization work?

With so many important modernization activities underway, it's essential these operations move forward with minimal disruption.

This subcommittee has a strong history of bipartisan support for modernization of our nuclear deterrent in which the National Nuclear Security Administration plays a central role.

I believe it will increase affordable home ownership, particularly in rural areas.

North Korea poses one of the most dangerous and pressing threats to the United States' national security.

China is the linchpin. They are the key to any international sanctions efforts.

We have to dramatically increase our diplomatic and economic pressure on the regime to abandon its nuclear weapons.

One of the things you hear about North Korea is that they would rather have their people eat grass than give up any part of their nuclear program.

I hope this hearing will help lay the groundwork for cooperation between Congress and the White House that we tackle this threat together.

I pray for the sake of our armed forces and, frankly, the world that we will never have to put those plans into action.
