Mr. Speaker, in the greatest book ever written, in the most universally read book of all times, it is worth recalling in this most special period in the U.S. House of Representatives an inscription in the book of Ecclesiastes. It says: "For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which has been planted." Representative Patsy Mink represented her seasons and her purpose under heaven. She planted great, eternal seeds in her season, and certainly fertilized them well. Often when I would see Mrs. Mink fight for a cause on the floor, I was reminded of a cliche that we often used when we were coming up describing Patsy Mink: She was a little piece of leather, but well put together.
