Barack Obama served as the 44th President of the United States from January 20, 2009, to January 20, 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously represented Illinois in the U.S. Senate from 2005 to 2008 and served in the Illinois State Senate from 1997 to 2004. Obama is known for his signature policies including the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, and his efforts in economic recovery following the 2008 financial crisis. His presidency was marked by significant legislative achievements and a focus on healthcare reform, climate change, and foreign policy initiatives such as the Iran nuclear deal.
Solving our global warming problem is the moral, business, policy and political challenge of our generation.
Make no mistake - developing the next generation of energy will be one of the greatest challenges that this generation of Americans will ever face.
I would not be running for President if I didn't believe that this time could be different.
We can't afford the same kind of caution when the future of our security is at stake.
I know that change makes for good campaign rhetoric, the word change on a bumper sticker. But, when these same people actually had a chance to make change happen, they didn't lead.
As President, I won't stand for hundreds of thousands of veterans waiting for benefits.
