Barack Obama served as the 44th President of the United States from January 20, 2009, to January 20, 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously represented Illinois in the U.S. Senate from 2005 to 2008 and served in the Illinois State Senate from 1997 to 2004. Obama is known for his signature policies including the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, and his efforts in economic recovery following the 2008 financial crisis. His presidency was marked by significant legislative achievements and a focus on healthcare reform, climate change, and foreign policy initiatives such as the Iran nuclear deal.
Imagine a President who fought each day to narrow the gap between the world as it is and the world as it should be.
I have said previously that I would not be surprised to see some spikes in violence as we begin the withdrawal.
I think that it is important to understand that there are no good options in Iraq.
We are not going to be engaging in combat activities day-to-day in Iraq.
I do not believe that we can remove troops at the pace that Governor Richardson was talking about.
I think the only way we are going to get the Iraqi factions to focus their attention is if they understand that we are proceeding with a withdrawal.
I want the best person, I want somebody who has enough credibility with the military.
