I never expected today to be quite as emotional for me as it has been.

I`m a Republican dedicated to conservative values, but I swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. And while this is not the position I expected to be in, or sought out, when duty calls, I will always answer.

Look, it`s childish. We`re doing big things right now. We`re getting to the answers of the worst attack on the Capitol since the War of 1812.

I think the vast majority, if not all of them, my colleagues believe that this was a Trump inside of insurrection. But when you`re in a tribe, and you know, if you say something truthful, that gets you kicked out of the tribe, you keep…

I won`t name names, but, yes, I do have that suspicion. If you have members of Congress who were involved in nurturing an insurrection, heck, yeah, we need to know.

I think this is going to be atrocious. I think it's going to be bad. I think it's -- you guys are going to be covering terrible scenes out of Afghanistan.

How do you make a promise to the American -- to the people there that you'll follow through on what you say?

They're going to be killed, their families are going to be killed. And it's not just the humanitarian impact of that, which is tragic, and obviously important.

I disagreed with the President's decision to leave, but it's made. And so, we now look at there's 18,000 people in Afghanistan that worked with U.S. forces, to work as translators and other things that in many cases actually died.

How can you vote -- how you can vote no, on this is beyond me. Then again, denying an insurrection is as well to the brave capital and D.C. metro PD, thank you.

He is instead obsessed with the fact that he lost again at something. And instead of in his post presidency, taking on I don’t know some issue that he cares about, or some thing that we see former presidents do, he’s down there obsessing…

I want to solve problems. And if it cost me my election, so be it.

If people are willing, at a young age to put their life on the line for this country, and we can't put our career on the line for the same thing, what's it worth?

And instead of in his post presidency, taking on -- I don't know, some issue that he cares about, or something that we see former Presidents do, he is down there obsessing about the fact that he's a loser.

I think what happened is, you know, a few weeks after the insurrection, frankly, Kevin McCarthy went down to Mar-a-Lago. He took the paddles, the political paddles, and he resurrected Donald Trump's politics back to life.

But we have, the party has convinced 74 million Americans, many who believe it that the election was stolen, that their vote didn't count, that they were disenfranchised, and in that process, it's impossible to not expect what happened on…

The number one thing though that Republicans and Democrats have to face right now as a country, and Independents is the defense of democracy because none of the issues you're outraged about today, whether it's Dr. Seuss, or whatever…

This is the kind of danger -- and we have so many Members of Congress and elected officials that just go along with it.

It is a really dangerous moment in this country, and people have to stand up and they have to tell people the truth.

It's time that we get past fetishizing the violence in this.

A Civil War or a coup would never lead to a stronger nation.

Yes, I do. I think we have gotten lazy in assuming that democracy will always survive.

I do think Kevin has failed to tell the truth to the Republicans and to the American people, and it pains me to say it.
