Jim Risch is an American politician serving as the junior United States senator from Idaho since 2009. A member of the Republican Party, Risch previously held the position of lieutenant governor of Idaho from 2006 to 2009 and served in the Idaho State Senate from 2002 to 2006. Throughout his career, he has focused on issues such as government accountability and land management, reflecting the interests of his constituents in Idaho.
It appears to me that potentially a precedent is being set here that, in terms of our overall foreign policy history, is not a good one.
I think it is important to pin down when the United States is going to use military force, to have the proper checks and balances with the Congress.

I have a real difficulty in explaining to people back home in Idaho what we're doing spending billions of dollars in Pakistan.
Why are we spending our kids' and our grandkids' money to do this in a country that really doesn't like us?
I think Americans are getting tired of it, as far as shoveling money in there, to people who just flat don't like us.
