“we have voted for similar SCHIP measures in the past, but those efforts were thwarted time and time again. I believe today is a new day. Today, we will send a clear message to those who need our help the most--our children. This Congress and the new administration will tell the 38,000 uninsured children in Iowa and the millions more across the country that we care and that we will no longer leave them without the health care they need. I look forward to casting my vote in strong support of this legislation. I urge my colleagues to do the same.”
