This is another it feels like a slap in the face from this administration when it comes to trade.
Now, we obviously know employee ownership is good for business, it is good for people, and it is good for communities like the one I represent in Northeast Iowa.
In Iowa, when I talk to employers about workforce development and ways to bring new investment into our region, access to affordable childcare almost always comes up and it is almost always at the top of the list.
Our businesses are losing thousands of dollars due to employee turnover because their workers cannot find reliable childcare.
It is important that we enforce those standards and make sure that folks are following them.
It is incredibly important to address this crisis and bring down the cost of childcare for working families.
I strongly believe that this is an area where we can find bipartisan agreement.
We know that more investment from the federal level is needed to address the childcare crisis.
Ensuring that the youngest and most vulnerable among us are safe is also something that Democrats and Republicans can both agree on.
