One of my physician colleagues used to tell me that he never operated on a Democrat patient or a Republican patient, he operated on a patient.

We need a system that incentivizes innovation, and a system that provides choices to patients.

That is changing the way that American medicine is practiced by folks making decisions here in Washington as opposed to patients and families and doctors making those decisions.

I believe firmly that the bill that has been discussed and that was put before Congress is a significantly better program than the one that we currently have.
