I thank you so much. The silence truly has been deafening, and it is disappointing and it is disconcerting. But as a Christian, but a non-Catholic, I have struggled and attempted to find folks who have a perspective on what has occurred over the past number of days, and there are a couple individuals that I find that have given some hope. Some people have called back through history and brought my attention back to the fact that religions can grow, that spirituality can grow. There is a quote that I would like to share before I yield again from Michael Potemra, who said, ``The Koran is one of the loveliest books ever written, a distillation of monotheism that is full of spiritual wisdom, and I never fail to profit from the reading of it. But the global mainstream of Koran interpretation stresses passages that are harmful and slights those that are irenic. The Pope's words approached without quite touching this unpleasant truth. As a result of the current riots, there will be even more Western voices calling for `a clash of civilizations against Islam itself.' Before we decide that Islam cannot be saved from its darker side, we should call to mind Christian history.…
