I thought that the information that you were giving was very important and critical, and so I extended my time.
It seems cumbersome to have to wait until a disaster occurs and for Congress to have to pass a special bill for Puerto Rico if that were already in place, the provisions for that.
People are frightened. They are not being well-served by this lack of accurate information.
I hope that you would reconsider if in fact the Inspector General's report yields statistically significant problems.
I am concerned--and there is a great deal of concern about the territories being able to have the resources they need when they need it.
The block grant though has a cap on it. And if the need exceeds the block grant, they are out of luck.
Why would you not want to put these resources towards hiring new FSA staff, particularly since--for example, in Georgia our customers are saying that they don't have enough staff?
I would urge you, Mr. Secretary, to please, if, to the extent that you can, try to expedite these funds.
