Sanford Dixon Bishop is an American politician serving as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Georgia's 2nd congressional district since 2003. A member of the Democratic Party, Bishop has focused on issues such as economic development, education, and healthcare throughout his tenure in Congress. He has been an advocate for rural communities and has worked to secure funding for various local projects in his district.
When I think of sustainability in the livestock sector, I think of Will Harris of White Oak Pastures in my district down in Georgia.
The scalable solutions is important to me, because I would like to know what we can do to help encourage the local and the regional processing infrastructure.

the current situation in Ukraine... has only compounded the global food crisis by intensifying the need for humanitarian assistance, and by reducing global supplies of wheat, cooking oil, and fertilizer.

Through the Fiscal Year 2022 agriculture appropriations bill, USDA is going to receive significant investments to research sustainable agriculture systems.
I am proud to partner with Representatives Grace Meng and Brian Fitzpatrick earlier this year to introduce the SNAP PLUS Act of 2021 (H.R. 6338), which will fix this loophole in our social safety network.
