I am so glad that the gentleman asked that question, and I have actually been speaking on the floor of this House for the last month on a weekly basis talking about that very thing that the gentleman speaks of. Physicians have been suffering severely over the last several years. They have taken deep cuts in Medicare payments, and the projected cuts for the next 2 years were 4.5 percent, 4.5 percent less per year in Medicare reimbursement at a time when their practice expenses, especially the cost of malpractice premiums, are literally going through the roof; and the answer to my colleague's question is that under this bill, physicians not only in the next 2 years will not suffer that 4.5 percent cut, but in fact, they will have a 1.5 percent increase.
