I also thank Chairman Bond for including S. 925, the Women's Small Business Programs Act of 1997 that I introduced earlier this year, in the Small Business Reauthorization Act of 1997. My proposal will expand the pool of resources available to women-owned small businesses and would allow women business development centers to enter into contracts with other Federal agencies and departments to provide specific assistance to small business concerns. Far too often our Government serves as a roadblock to small business men and women. Taxes are too high, regulations are too complex, the costs of doing business are through the roof. It is time we did something to help our Nation's working women.
