I thank the Senator. While I would like to see funding for this project included in the Senate bill, I understand the difficulties that my colleagues are facing in trying to accommodate my request at this time and I defer to your advice on this matter and will not offer an amendment to provide the funding. Given that my ultimate goal is to ensure that adequate funding for this important project is obtained, I would truly appreciate my colleagues providing recognition of the seriousness of this problem as well as a commitment to work to obtain this funding in conference.
