I hope that we can get FHA back to the original intent that it was created for: to help the first-time homebuyer and people who might not otherwise be able to attain a mortgage.
The FHA is insolvent. If FHA were a private mortgage insurance company or one of my community banks, it would have failed a long time ago.
I urge this committee to swiftly vote to repeal QM and to return all Americans to their economic freedom.
